Located in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India, the Shree Bajreshwari Mata Mandir, also called Vajreshwari Devi Mandir, is a Hindu temple devoted to the goddess Vajreshvari, a manifestation of Durga. According to a mythology, following her father’s Yagya, Goddess Sati offered herself as a sacrifice to Lord Shiva. After placing her body on his shoulder, Shiva began the Tandav. Using his Chakra, Lord Vishnu split the body of Sati into 51 pieces to prevent him from destroying the world. This place became a Shakti Peetha when Sati’s left breast landed here. During the period of Mahabharatha, the Pandavas constructed the initial temple.
