The world’s first partition museum opened its doors at Town Hall in Amritsar in October 2016, thanks to the efforts of the Arts and Cultural Heritage Trust (TAACHT). The Museum welcomes a sizable number of visitors every day and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Museum is situated along Amritsar’s recently opened Heritage Street, which runs from the Golden Temple to the Town Hall. On October 24, 2016, the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Badal, opened the Partition Museum, along with a curtain-raiser display. On November 1, 2016, it was visited by the Honorable Finance Minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley, the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal, and the Honorable Union Ministers, among them, Ms. Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
